Summary
Join It admins can now take advantage of the ability to add ‘Merge Tag’ placeholders in Automated Emails and Quick & Easy Emails. This enhancement makes your email communication more personalized and effective, improving member engagement and experience.
What are Merge Tags?
Merge Tags are placeholders you can insert into the subject line or body of your emails. When the email is sent, these placeholders are automatically replaced with the corresponding information from a membership record. This means no more manual edits and a more streamlined email creation process.
Guide to using Merge Tags
Available Merge Tags
You can use the following options:
*|first_name|* inserts the recipient's first name.
*|last_name|* inserts the recipient's last name.
*|membership_type|* inserts the type of membership the recipient holds.
*|email|* inserts the recipient's email address.
Putting Merge Tags to use
Activating a Merge Tag is simple! Include an asterisks and a pipe to open the tag (*|) then include the tag name (first_name, last_name, email, membership_type) and then close the tag with a pipe and then asterisk (|*) in either an Automated Email or a Quick & Easy email.
For example:
To personalize a greeting: "Hello, *|first_name|*!"
To include membership details: "Your membership type: *|membership_type|*"
When the email is sent, these placeholders will automatically be replaced with the relevant information from the membership database.
