Summary

Organizations have the option to set up Digital Membership Cards, so that Members receive a Membership card attached to their Membership Confirmation emails.

These Digital Membership Cards are compatible with all Apple's iOS devices (iPhones and iPads) and Google Wallet on Android devices.

iPhones (other iOS Devices)

Apple Wallet Support

  1. Open your Membership Confirmation email on your iPhone (using your preferred email app such as Gmail, Outlook, or the Mail app).

  2. Click on the 'Add to Apple Wallet' button

  3. The card will open, Tap 'Add to Apple Wallet' on that page and then click 'Add' on the next and the card will be saved to your Apple Wallet.

Android Devices

Google Wallet Support

  1. Open your Membership Confirmation email on your Android device in your preferred email app.

  2. Click on the 'Add to Google Wallet' button

  3. From there it'll open your Membership card. Tap 'Add to Google Wallet' on that page and then click 'Add' on the next and the card will be saved to your Google Wallet app (provided you already have Google Wallet installed).

How to Download Your Digital Membership Card

You can download your Digital Membership Card using one of two methods:

  • From the Membership Confirmation Email: The card will be downloadable from the Membership or Renewal confirmation email.

  • From Your Member Portal: Log into your Member Portal and click the ‘Send Card’ button to receive the card.

Does the Email preview match the downloaded Membership Card?

The email preview is an approximation of how a Digital Membership Card may appear in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and should not be considered an exact match.

While Join It controls the information sent to digital wallets, the final appearance of the card is fully controlled by Apple and Google. Join It cannot control the exact layout of the card, where individual fields appear, whether fields display on the front of the card or the info screen, or how text is resized, wrapped, or truncated.

Because of this, the same card may appear slightly differently across devices and platforms.

Viewing the Profile Photo

The Digital Membership Card includes a member’s profile photo (when added in Join It), which can be useful for identification at events or member check-ins. However, it’s important to note that the visibility of the profile photo depends on the wallet platform being used:

  • Apple Wallet (iOS Devices):
The member’s profile photo is displayed on the front of the Digital Membership Card, making it easy for quick visual identification when the card is opened.

  • Google Wallet (Android Devices):
Google Wallet has stricter design limitations. As a result, the profile photo is only displayed on the back of the Digital Membership Card. To view it, members need to tap the three-dot menu (⋮) or use the “Details” view within Google Wallet.

This difference is due to platform-specific design standards, and it's not something Join It can modify. Regardless of platform, the profile photo is always included on the card and available for reference when needed.
