Overview
Some Organizations are looking to be able to set a 'term' for an auto re-billing membership. For example, to be able to allow for a Monthly billing Membership to expire after one year.
Currently, we don't have a way to automatically set a term for auto re-billing memberships. However, we have a great work-around to help with this!
Instructions for the workaround:
Set new Memberships to default to the 'Pending' status
When a new Membership signs up, set the cancelation Date on the Subscription to be 1 year from the sign up Date
Once this is done, set the member to 'Active' and you're all set!

How do I change the default status on a Membership type?
You can update the default status on a Membership type by going to the Membership type page, click on one to edit, then click on 'Edit settings' then you'll see the option that says 'Assigned Members Statuses'. You can choose the 'Pending' option there.
